My forte was taking a green/inexperienced pony/horse and bringing it along.
*Favorite horse show moment over my many years of competing:
Getting the highest jumping score not once but twice in a torrential downpour at The Hampton Classic on a very green 3-year-old pony. He was an investment for $3000 that we sold for $25,000 when we walked out of the show ring that day to a little girl who kept him until he passed in her care 29 years later.
  • Eventing
  • Hunter Pacing

Your Flying Free CEO/Director, most importantly here. I fell in love with horses at a very young age. I found them calming and fascinating all at the same time. At age 10, I purchased my first pony from a field in Vermont with everything I had in the bank.

After running a business for children without special needs for over a decade in New York, I moved to Connecticut and wanted to do something even more meaningful. Someone told me about therapeutic riding and getting certified at High Hopes/Old Lyme/CT, so I did. It is something that I have never regretted, and it has become my calling. Losing our former program, especially so suddenly, was devastating. Specifically, watching how it affected everyone around me.

This mission is something that I am dedicated to and will see through with all that I have in me. My favorite horse show moment above reflects who I am. I seem to do best under the worst of circumstances, when the odds are against me. That should make everyone rooting for us here feel even more hopeful :-).
